This Bolognese sauce recipe is going to be your new favorite sauce ever. It is perfect to pair with raviolis, lasagna, cannelloni or any kind of pasta that you love!
Even though you need to invest some hours to do this recipe, it is really simple and you don’t even need many ingredients. Also, it stays really well in the freezer, so you can make a lot and just save it for many occasions.
It is really important to cook the tomato puree enough so the sauce doesn’t get a sour flavor after one day. If you leave it in the heat sufficient time, it will up to ten days in the refrigerator if you store it in a glass container.
Preparation time: 3 hours
Yields: 6 portions
Ingredients:
- 1lb of ground beef
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 2 tbsp of oil
- 1 28-oz can of tomato puree
- 7cups of water
- ¼ cup Parmesan cheese
- Salt to taste
- Ground pepper to taste
Method:
- In a large pot over medium heat, add your oil and smashed garlic cloves.
- When already heated, add the ground beef into the pot.
- Mix in your salt and pepper to season the meat while cooking.
- When already cooked, pour the tomato puree and stir.
- Add half of the water and stir again. You will need to leave it there over low heat for an hour. The water will reduce down while helping to cook the tomato puree.
- When the water is totally reduced, add the remaining water, stir and wait until the water reduces again.
- When the water is reduced the second time, add the parmesan cheese and give it a last good stir.
- Serve with more parmesan cheese on top if you want to make it extra cheesy!
