This recipe is the kind of breakfast that we usually only have when on vacation or in a restaurant but actually is pretty easy to make at home. Perfect for a Sunday brunch with friends or family!
Ingredients:
- 8 slices of bread, thick
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup of milk
- 2 tbsp of sugar
- 4 tbsp of butter
- A pinch of salt
Instructions:
- In a medium bowl, combine the eggs and milk, mix well.
- Add the sugar and salt and stir again. If you want this extra sweet, add about 2 tbsp more of sugar.
- Place a large non stick skillet over medium heat, add a tbsp of butter to melt.
- Soak each bread slice into the milk and eggs mixture. Make sure both sides are covered well.
- Cook each bread slice, two or three at a time, until golden on both sides.
- After each batch of slices, remember to add more butter to the skillet.
For the scrambled eggs:
I like to combine my sweet french toasts with something salty and nothing better for breakfast than some yummy scrambled eggs.
Ingredients:
- 3 eggs
- 2 sausages,
- 2 tbsp of milk
- 1 tbsp of butter
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Cut the sausages into small pieces, set aside.
- In a large skillet, over medium heat, add the butter.
- When the butter is completely melted, add in the sausages to let the cook with the butter.
- In a bowl, mix the eggs, milk, salt and pepper, stir to combine well.
- When the sausages are well cooked, add in the eggs mixture and lower the heat.
- Stir the eggs using a wooden spoon and don’t overcook them.
Serve on top of the french toasts and enjoy!
