Buttery Melt In Your Mouth Cornbread

This buttery melt-in-your-mouth homemade cornbread will definitely get rave reviews during the holidays.

Ingredients:

  • Cornmeal 1 cup
  • All-purpose flour 2-1/3 cups
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Eggs 3 large, at room temperature
  • 2% milk 1-2/3 cups
  • Butter 2/3 cup
  • Baking powder 4 ½ teaspoons
  • Salt 1 teaspoon

Directions:

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Grease a 13 by 9 inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
  • In a small bowl, combine eggs and milk, set aside.
  • In another bowl, mix together cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt, set aside.
  • Cream butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  • Alternately add flour mixture and egg mixture to creamed mixture.
  • Pour into prepared baking pan and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cut into squares and serve warm.
