Suspiro Limeno

This Peruvian dessert is made with evaporated milk, condensed milk, eggs, and confectioners’ sugar.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can Evaporated milk (12 fluid ounce)
  • 1 can Sweetened condensed milk (14 ounces)
  • 1 Tbs Alcohol-free vanilla extract
  • 2 Egg yolks, beaten
  • 2 Egg whites, beaten
  • 1 cup of Confectioners’ sugar
  • ¼ Tsp Ground cinnamon

Directions:

  • In a saucepan, whisk together evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and egg yolks.
  • Place over medium-low heat and gently cook for 30 minutes or until the mixture thickens, stirring continuously with a wooden spoon.
  • Remove from heat and pour into a heatproof dish, set aside.
  • Whip the egg whites with confectioners’ sugar until the form of a stiff peak.
  • Evenly spread on top of the milk mixture.
  • Refrigerate for 3 hours or until cold.
  • Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon and serve.
