Jersey-Style Grilled Potato Hot Dogs

This delicious combination was originated from New Jersey. You will definitely love this recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 6 medium Yukon gold potatoes, halved and thinly sliced
  • 3 large Onions, halved and thinly sliced
  • 3 large Sweet red peppers, thinly sliced
  • 6 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/3 cup Olive oil
  • 3 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Pepper
  • 12 Bun-length beef hot dogs
  • 12 Hot dog buns

Directions:

  • Combine oil, garlic, salt, and pepper in a large bowl and mix well.
  • Add in potatoes, onion, and sweet red pepper and toss to coat.
  • Transfer the potato mixture to two 13 by 9 inch, disposable aluminum foil pans, cover with aluminum foil and place both covered pans on grill rack over medium heat.
  • Cook, covered, for 30 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
  • Remove from heat, set aside.
  • Grill hot dogs, covered over medium heat for 8 minutes or until heated through, turning occasionally.
  • Put buns on the grill, cut side down, and grill until lightly toasted.
  • Place potato mixture in each bun and top each bun with hot dogs.
  • Serve immediately with the remaining potato mixture.
