Homemade Pizza

All the pizza lovers need to have a copy of this recipe around the kitchen for whenever craving some delicious homemade pizza! Even though it requires some time to prepare the dough, it is totally worth it and also a great Sunday activity to do with family or friends.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups of all purpose flour
  • .25oz of active yeast
  • ¼ cup of olive oil
  • 1 ½ cups of water, warm
  • 2 tsp of sugar
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 ½ cups of pizza sauce
  • 2 cups of mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp of oregano

Instructions:

  • In a bowl, add the warm water and yeast. Let it rest for a couple of minutes until foamy.
  • Take a larger bowl and add the foamy water, salt, sugar, olive oil and flour. Stir until you start to get a dough consistency.
  • When the dough is firm enough, start to knead it for at least 10 minutes. The more you knead it the better the dough will end. If you have an electric mixer with a dough hook that will be much easier to do, if don’t it is ok! Hands work as good but will take a bit longer.
  • Place the dough inside a clean bowl and cover it with a towel. Let it rest in a dark place like inside an off oven. The dough will double its size in an hour or two.
  • After letting it grow, sprinkle some flour into a flat surface to rollout the dough either in a circle or rectangle shape.
  • Place the dough on a baking tray and while assemble it, preheat the oven to 190 degrees C.
  • Spread the pizza sauce all over the dough. Sprinkle the oregano on top.
  • Add the mozzarella cheese and then add any other toppings that you like.
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until the edges are golden and the cheese is completely melted.
