Cheesy Bread Boats

If you are completely bored of having the same kind of sandwich every day, keep reading this fabulous recipe!

These bread boats are going to make you look like a master chef because of its cool presentation. Also, these are great to be creative and fill them with any leftover that you have at home: chicken, meat, veggies, cheeses…

Feel free to use your favorite kind of bread to bake this recipe but make sure it is a bread that is not too soft or it won’t hold all the ingredients you are going to add.

Ingredients:

  • 6 baguettini
  • 1 cup of white sauce
  • 1 cup of mozzarella cheese
  • 10 oz of ham
  • ¼ cup of corn
  • 4 tbsp of butter, melted
  • A pinch of salt
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F.
  2. Take your baguettini and using a sharp knife, cut the center leaving the bottom of the bread. This means you have to create kind of a bowl in the middle of the bread. Repeat the same with all of them.
  3. Cut the ham into strips or squares and mix half with the white sauce.
  4. Add into the white sauce the pinch of salt and pepper to taste. I recommend using black pepper but red pepper works great too.
  5. Divide the white sauce into the 6 baguettini, filling the center half full.
  6. Incorporate with the ham adding the remaining divided into the six bread boats.
  7. Cover the ham with some corn.
  8. Finish with the mozzarella cheese on top of all the ingredients.
  9. Place your bread boats in a baking tray, previously lined, and brush the melted butter all over the edges of each baguettini.
  10. Bake for about 8 minutes or until the cheese is completely melted.
  11. Serve warm!
