Homemade Buttery Garlic Bread

These soft and buttery garlic breads are going to be your new favorite side dish to serve with all your meals! If you want to add some extra flavor, sprinkle or stuff them with some cheese.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup of water, warm
  • 1 tsp of active dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp of sugar
  • 3 ½ cups of all purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ cup of milk
  • 2 tbsp of butter, melted
  • A pinch of salt

For the topping:

  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2-4 tbsp of Parsley leaves, chopped
  • ¼ cup of butter, melted
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, add the warm water and mix it with the dry yeast and tbsp of sugar. Be careful that the water is not too hot or the yeast won’t work properly. It needs to be warm to the touch, not boiling.
  2. Set aside the yeast mixture for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the milk, egg, melted butter and salt. Whisk by hand or with an electric mixer.
  4. Add the yeast mixture into the large bowl and incorporate all the ingredients together.
  5. Sift in the all purpose flour and fold it using a wooden spoon or a large spatula.
  6. You will end with an even dough. Cover it with a clean towel and let it grow for about 25 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  8. Sprinkle some flour over a clean plain surface and knead your dough for 5 minutes.
  9. Divide the dough into about 16-18 small dough balls. It is up to you how big or small you want your bread rolls to be.
  10. Place the dough balls in a previously greased baking tray pan. Leave space in between them because they will grow in the oven.
  11. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, salt, minced garlic and chopped parsley.
  12. Brush the garlic mixture all over the top of the dough balls.
  13. Bake the bread for 15 minutes or until golden. Some ovens might need more or less time so check them continuously after 10 minutes.
  14. Serve them warm!
