Nothing better than homemade macaroni and cheese! This recipe will help you to prepare a top dinner!
Ingredients:
For the meatballs:
- 400 g of ground beef
- 1 cup of breadcrumbs
- 1 egg, whisked
- 2 tbsp of milk
- 1 tbsp of garlic powder
- A pinch of salt
- Black pepper to taste
For the macaroni and cheese:
- 500 g of pasta, your favorite
- 2 cups of milk
- ½ cup of provolone cheese
- ½ cup of cheddar cheese
- ½ cup of mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup of all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp of butter
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
For the meatballs:
- In a large bowl, add in the ground beef, breadcrumbs, whisked egg, milk and all the seasoning condiments.
- Using your clean hands, combine the ingredients to get an even mixture. If you feel the mixture is not thick enough, add more breadcrumbs.
- Take about 2 tbsp of beef mixture and create balls. The size is up to you! I like medium ones but you can make them larger or smaller.
- In a large skillet, over medium heat, add the meatballs and cook for 10 minutes on each side. If you make larger meatballs, you might need to cook them longer.
- When ready, set aside to use later.
For the macaroni and cheese:
- Boil the pasta as usual. When ready drain and set aside. Use your favorite kind of short pasta.
- In a large saucepan, over low heat, add the butter, all-purpose flour and salt. Stir to combine.
- After 2 minutes, add the milk and all the cheese. Stir until all the cheeses are melted. Turn the heat off.
- Add in the pasta into the cheese mixture. Cover all the spots!
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C.
- Grease a baking pan and add the cheesy pasta. Spread well.
- Dip the meatballs all over the surface. If you want, you can sprinkle some more cheese on top.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until golden on top.
Enjoy!!!
