This recipe will help you to transform a simple dessert into a gourmet version of itself. If you like chocolate, you will completely fall in love with this treat!
Preparation time: 90 minutes
Yields: 4 portions
Ingredients:
For the brownies:
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup of sugar
- ½ cup of butter, melted
- 80 g of dark chocolate, chopped
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
To assemble:
- 1 cup of heavy whipping cream
- 40 g of dark chocolate, melted
- 1 tbsp of cocoa powder
Method:
For the brownies:
- Preheat the oven to 350º F.
- Melt the dark chocolate using the double boiler method. You can also use the microwave; heat the chocolate for 10 seconds, stir, heat for 10 seconds and stir again. Repeat the process until completely melted. Set aside to cool down.
- In a large bowl, add the melted butter, sugar and salt. Whisk really well.
- Add the eggs, one by one, keep whisking to incorporate all the ingredients until light and fluffy.
- Incorporate the melted chocolate and vanilla extract. Make sure the chocolate is not hot. Stir the mixture.
- Finally, sift in the all-purpose flour and fold it into the batter. Don’t overmix.
- Line a baking pan with some parchment paper. Preferably a 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Pour your batter into the pan and bake for 18 minutes.
- When the brownie cools down, crumble it all.
To assemble:
- In a cold bowl, add your cold heavy whipping cream and whip it on high speed until stiff peaks form.
- Take an individual springform pan and add a layer of brownie crumbs.
- Over that one, add a layer of whipped cream.
- Repeat the same until the top of the pan. You can make around 4 individual cakes.
- Refrigerate for an hour to set.
- Drizzle some dark chocolate on top.
- Finish it with a sprinkle of cocoa powder.
