Chicken Chow Mein

Ingredients:

  • 1 packet Egg noodles
  • 1 Chicken breast
  • 2 medium sized julienned bell pepper
  • 1/2 julienned Cabbage
  • 1 small julienned Carrot
  • 1 Onion sliced
  • Green onion (only green part 1-2 strands)
  • 1 Egg
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2tbsp Chilli sauce
  • 1tbsp Cornflour
  • 2tbsp wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp Garlic
  • 4tbsp Oil
  • 2tsp chilli paste

 

Sauce:

  • 1tsp Black pepper powder
  • 1tsp Garam masala
  • 1 tbsp Chicken powder
  • 4tbsp dark soya sauce
  • 3tbsp Chilli sauce
  • Salt to taste

Method

1. Boil the noodles and keep aside.
2. Cut chicken breast into strip and marinate the chicken breast with salt, pepper, chilli sauce, cornflour and egg. Fry and set aside.
3. In a bowl, mix together the sauce ingredients.
4. In a non stick pan, add oil and stir fry garlic until it gives slight aroma.
5. Add the chilli paste and mix it for about a min.
6. Add the vegetables along with the sauce and mix for 30seconds.
7. The heat should be put on high, mix in the noodles and chicken properly until they are evenly coated.
