Cookies and Chocolate Mousse Dessert

Chocolate mousse is an excellent idea for when craving sweet things but don’t want to turn on the oven. Also, because on how simple it is, this recipe is perfect to make with children.

Another fantastic way to prepare this dessert is to exchange the cookies with fresh fruit! Strawberries, blueberries, bananas, kiwi, any that you want! Same way with cookies, use your favorite ones. I like using chocolate cookies to please all the chocolate lovers out there but if you rather to choose a different kind of cookie it is completely fine!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of whipping cream, cool
  • ¼ cup of high quality cacao powder
  • ½ cup of powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp of black coffee, brewed
  • A pinch of salt
  • 2 cups of cookie crumbs

Instructions:

  1.  Before starting to make the dessert, you will need your bowl and tools to be chilled. Place them in the freezer at least 15 minutes before starting.
  2. Pour the whipping cream into the bowl and whisk it until light and fluffy. Make sure the consistency can hold picks.
  3. Sift in half of the cocoa powder and half of the powdered sugar. Carefully stir to combine.
  4. When the first batch is incorporated, add the second half of cocoa powder, powdered sugar and pinch of salt.
  5. Pour the black coffee and give it a last stir.
  6. Place in the refrigerator 10 minutes before serving.
  7. When the mousse is chilled, place it inside a piping bag. If you don’t have any available, use a small spoon so you can have more control over it.
  8. Start to create layers: one layer of mousse, one of cookie crumbs, another mousse one and continue until you get to the top!
  9. Enjoy!
