This recipe is going to be your new go to for those game nights with your friends! Best thing is that because this dish is served in layers, you can use your imagination and add as many as you want!
Ingredients:
- 3 cups of tortilla chips
- 1 lb of ground beef
- 1 tomato, cubed
- 1 onion, cubed
- 1 can of red beans
- ½ cup of cheese, shredded
- 2 tbsp of hot sauce
- 2 tbsp of oil
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Instructions:
- In a large skillet, over medium heat, add the oil. When hot, incorporate the cubed tomatoes and cubed onions. Use your favorite kind of onions, both regular and purple work great for this recipe.
- Stir the veggies for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef in the skillet, stir to combine with the veggies.
- Sprinkle the salt and pepper over the beef. Mix again and keep cooking over medium heat. Here is the time to add any other seasoning that you would like.
- This step is totally optional but if you want the meat to be spicy, add the hot sauce just before it is done. Give it a last good stir.
- In a large plate, place your tortilla chips; these are going to be the base of the layers.
- Add the red beans. If you rather you can use black beans too! Both are perfect for the recipe.
- Next layer is the ground beef, cover the beans with it.
- Final layer is cheese! Use your favorite kind of cheese, preferably shredded but melted is a fantastic option too.
- Serve and enjoy! Feel free to add more layers if you want. Some ideas to create layers: sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, more hot sauce…
