Fall is coming and as those temperatures start dipping down, forcing us to dig out our sweaters with glee, we’ve got to find new ways to stay warm and cozy. No worries though. These fall drinks are the perfect libations to cozy up to with friends or possibly someone even cozier.
Bourbon Mulled Cider
On a chilly night, nothing could be a better nightcap than this. It starts with 1.25 ounces of bourbon along with hot apple cider filled the rest of the way in your mug. Add a dash of allspice, then garnish with a cinnamon stick and slice of lemon for a handsome cocktail.
Apple Cider Mimosa
Brunch on a brisk morning? Try an apple cider mimosa. Rim champagne flutes with a combination of cinnamon and sugar. Then fill them up about 1/4 of the way with apple cider, followed by the champagne. And you thought pumpkin spice was the best drink there was? For shame!
Harvest Apple
Now for something a bit upscale. It’s almost too pretty to drink this after dinner drink, but we think you’ll manage. You’ll want to use your most sophisticated glassware, like a coupe glass. In your shaker, add 1.5 ounces of good cognac, a half-ounce of cinnamon syrup, and then one heaping spoonful of apple butter. In the absence of apple butter, you can use apple syrup. The ever-popular cinnamon stick makes a lovely garnish.
Caramel Apple Mule
Once upon a time, the mules that were in high fashion were the ones we wore on our feet. Thankfully, that trend is over, but mules for drinks are ultra-hot. Everything has been twisted for the original Moscow Mule, but we love the ingenuity. Another way to make a Moscow Mule with a fall twist is to add 1.5 ounces of vodka with a half-ounce of caramel syrup and one ounce of apple cider. Shake it all up with ice, then strain into your awaiting copper mug over ice. Fill up the rest of the way with your favorite ginger beer.
Pumpkin Spice Margarita
Ok, we couldn’t leave you without a pumpkin spiced-something, so let’s bring the party with this margarita. Margaritas are always seen as a fun summer cocktail, but with a pumpkin spice flair, it’s perfect for fall celebrations. It’s easy to make too. You’ll want to use a good tequila, about 1.5 parts should do it. Counter that with 3 parts of cream. Add half a part of pumpkin spice syrup and 1 part of simple syrup along with vanilla extract, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice. Take all these glorious ingredients and shake them together vigorously with ice. Have a chilled cocktail glass awaiting, preferably rimmed with cinnamon. Strain it in and enjoy.
If you thought fall wouldn’t be any fun, think again! These fun fall cocktails are going to make sweater weather even better!
