Fettuccine with Cream and Bacon

This is a really easy, fast, creamy and tasty dish that will make you look like a chef in front of anyone!  Even though this recipe calls for fettuccine pasta, you can use any other kind that you prefer.

If pasta is not your favorite, this creamy sauce with bacon is perfect to serve with boiled or baked potatoes, vegetables like broccoli or even with plain bread as an appetizer.

 

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Serves: 4

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of fettuccine or your favorite kind of pasta.
  • 2 cups of cream
  • 8 stripes of bacon
  • 1 tsp of cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp of water
  • 2 pinch of salt
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Red pepper to taste

 

Method:

  • In a large sauce pan, boil the fettuccine with a pinch of salt until al dente.
  • Meanwhile, chop the bacon stripes and add them to a pan.
  • Cook the bacon over medium heat, stir to get crispy chunks.
  • Add the two cups of cream and stir to combine the mixture.
  • In a cup, add the tsp of cornstarch and pour two tbsp of water, stir and add it to the cream.
  • Whisk the cream until the sauce gets a thicker consistency.
  • Incorporate black and red pepper to taste. Don’t add to much, you can always take it to the table and add more when already served.
  • Strain the pasta and add creamy sauce on top.

 

Tip: take this dish to the next level adding some parmesan cheese on top.
