Homemade Baked Chicken Nuggets

These are going to be your new favorite nuggets because they are not only extremely easy to make, they are also a lot healthier and you will be able to customize them with different seasonings!

Some great ingredients to mix with your breadcrumbs are: Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, red pepper flakes, oats…

Ingredients:

  • 2 boneless chicken breasts, cubed
  • 1 cup of all purpose flour
  • 1 cup of bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp of mustard
  • 1 tsp of garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Cut your boneless chicken breasts into small pieces. You can decide if you want them more squared, bigger, smaller, etc. I like medium size nuggets but if you are going to make them for a party, it is better to make them bite size.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs and add in the mustard, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Mix well to combine.
  4. Set 3 plates to assemble your nuggets. One with all purpose flour, another with breadcrumbs and the third one with the egg mixture. If wanting to make spicy chicken nuggets, add some red pepper flakes to the breadcrumbs and stir to combine.
  5. Cover each chicken piece with all purpose flour. Make sure they are completely covered.
  6. Dip the pieces into the whisked egg mixture.
  7. Finally, it is time to submerge each piece into the breadcrumbs. If you want to make them extra crispy, repeat the last 2 steps twice.
  8. Grease a baking sheet with a little bit of butter or oil.
  9. Place each nugget in the baking sheet and cook for 20 minutes.
  10. After 20 minutes, take the sheet off the oven and flip the nuggets. Bake for another 15 minutes or until golden.
  11. Serve with your favorite dips!
