Ingredients:
For the croissant dough
- 2 cups of all purpose flour
- 1 cup of butter, room temperature and cubed
- 4 tbsp of sugar
- 1 1/2 cups of milk
- 2 tsp of instant dry yeast
- 1 tsp of salt
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, sift in the all purpose flour and combine it with the instant dry yeast, sugar and salt. Stir to mix well.
- Add the milk and whisk to get a wet sand texture.
- Incorporate about a 1/4 cup of butter into the bowl and start to mix on low speed until completely combined. This will take about 5 minutes.
- This is when you will want to attach your kneading hook if you have one. Mix on medium speed for 10 to 15 minutes until you get a smooth even texture dough.
- When the dough is ready, cover it with a towel and place it in a dark place to let it grow. The dough will double it size in about 45 minutes to an hour.
- Sprinkle some flour over a clean plain surface. Divide the dough into 6 pieces.
- Roll out each piece of dough and flat them as much as possible. Cut them in half.
- Brush each portion of dough with plenty of butter.
- Start to roll the first piece really tight, be careful not to break the dough.
- When all rolled up, place it into the tip of the second half of dough and roll it again. You will end with a bigger roll of dough.
- Repeat the same with all the remaining dough.
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C.
- Using a giant size muffin pan, grease each compartment and line it with some parchment paper, place your dough rolls inside.
- Bake for 25 minutes until golden on top.
- When ready, let them cool down and serve while warm
