Morning French Toasts

This recipe is the kind of breakfast that we usually only have when on vacation or in a restaurant but actually is pretty easy to make at home. Perfect for a Sunday brunch with friends or family!

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices of bread, thick
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup of milk
  • 2 tbsp of sugar
  • 4 tbsp of butter
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the eggs and milk, mix well.
  2. Add the sugar and salt and stir again. If you want this extra sweet, add about 2 tbsp more of sugar.
  3. Place a large non stick skillet over medium heat, add a tbsp of butter to melt.
  4. Soak each bread slice into the milk and eggs mixture. Make sure both sides are covered well.
  5. Cook each bread slice, two or three at a time, until golden on both sides.
  6. After each batch of slices, remember to add more butter to the skillet.

For the scrambled eggs:

I like to combine my sweet french toasts with something salty and nothing better for breakfast than some yummy scrambled eggs.

Ingredients:

  • 3 eggs
  • 2 sausages,
  • 2 tbsp of milk
  • 1 tbsp of butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Cut the sausages into small pieces, set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, over medium heat, add the butter.
  3. When the butter is completely melted, add in the sausages to let the cook with the butter.
  4. In a bowl, mix the eggs, milk, salt and pepper, stir to combine well.
  5. When the sausages are well cooked, add in the eggs mixture and lower the heat.
  6. Stir the eggs using a wooden spoon and don’t overcook them.

Serve on top of the french toasts and enjoy!
