Learn how to make these savory pretzel bites that can be ready in less than an hour! Perfect for any party or as an appetizer for dinner.
Ingredients:
- 1 ¾ cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 egg, whisked
- 1 cup of milk
- ¼ cup of butter, cold
- ¼ cup of dehydrated onion
- 3 tbsp of chia
- 2 tbsp of baking powder
- 1 tbsp of garlic powder
- A pinch of salt
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C.
- In a large bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, garlic powder and pinch of salt. I always recommend to sift the flour before to avoid large lumps in the dough.
- Add the cold butter. Using a knife or a fork, start to chop the butter while combining it with the dry ingredients. You will end with a sand texture mixture where you can peak some tiny pieces of butter.
- Combine the dehydrated onion with the rest of the ingredients. If you want these with extra flavor, add a bit more than what the recipe calls for.
- Mix the milk with the whisked egg and pour the result into the large bowl. Combine using a wooden spoon or something similar. If you are doing it with an electric mixer, use a hook to combine the dough.
- Use your clean hands to knead the dough and get it smoother.
- Roll the dough to about 1-inch-thick and cut it into mini squares. You can do little balls too if you prefer.
- Sprinkle some extra dehydrated onion and chia on top of each pretzel bite.
- Place them in a previously lined baking tray.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until golden.
- When ready, let them rest for some minutes and serve while still warm. Don’t miss these with your favorite dipping sauces.
