Summer Time Picnic Tips

Summertime is upon us, and this means sunbathing and back yard parties.
However, before you step the BBQ and open the packs of burgers, why not dust off the picnic basket and head to the local park. We all have a great memory of a family picnic at the park, but let’s face it our parents didn’t exactly cook gourmet meals to take along with us. Here are a few suggestions on what you could cook up for a classier meal on the grass.

Beverage of choice: Raspberry and Lemon Rosé (or soda for the kids)
Raspberry and lemon rosé offers a cheeky citrus twist to a picnic cocktail. If
you’re taking the kids, mix raspberry cordial and lemonade for a sweet and non-alcoholic alternative.

Start it off: Tossed avocado salad and lemon dressing
Salads have been done over so make this one; however, your family loves it.
Though, to keep that summer sparkle add some slices of avocado and a sprinkle of lemon juice to the party.

Main event: Classic potato salad (with dijon mayonnaise)
You don’t need to mix it up to create an excellent potato salad, make it the way you always would then add a little dijon mustard and you won’t regret it.

Dessert: Strawberries and cream trifle
For a sweet treat to wrap up the day out combine strawberries and cream in a pot and add some biscuit crumbs for a delightful twist on an English classic. Pro tip: for the adults, you can add a little bourbon to spice it up even more.
